I’ve been on Karin Housley‘s local radio show many times, but never in person. In fact, she and I had never met.
So it was a delight to finally visit KLBB 1220AM in downtown Stillwater and appear in the flesh on the awesome Karin Housley Show with co-host Julie Johnson.
(I shot the above of Karin interviewing another of her guests this morning, shortly prior to my segment.)
Better yet, Karin and I had lunch at Oasis Cafe in Stillwater afterwards. She’s as nice in person as I imagined. So is Julie, who photobombs Karin and me (second shot above).
And the thrills weren’t over. As I was leaving the KLBB studio, I ran into local-news legend Stan Turner, who also has a show there.
It was my second run-in with Stan – my first-ever conversation with him was just a few weeks ago in downtown St. Paul – and I told him both times he is one of the local news veterans I have most admired over the years.
