This site has become a shoutouts-to-pals blog in recent days (see my three previous posts), which has been fun … so I will keep going.
Here, I’m focusing on two talented friends of mine who are related.
First, there’s Mark Fawcett.
Mark recently went into business for himself as an Apple-themed tech consultant, and he is doing well for himself.
He’s even becoming a bit of a legend at the Pioneer Press, where he helped out a couple of my coworkers. This tech-blog post of mine illustrates my point spectacularly.
Here’s Mark recently giving Apple Pay a spin.
Then there’s Eric Fawcett.
He lives across the street from me but, until recently, given how I am shy and keep to myself, I didn’t speak with him. I was finally introduced to him via Mark … who happens to be his cousin.
I needed all of five minutes with the Eric to realize he and the company he co-founded would make one hell of a Pioneer Press story. He co-runs Egg Music, a creative agency that makes music and other audio for TV shows, TV commercials and more.
I profiled Egg in the paper soon thereafter.
Here’s Eric (on the right) with his Egg partner John Hermanson.
As my article notes, Eric also has a remarkable backstory as a professional drummer who for a large part of his career toured with Pharrell (yes, that Pharrell).
Eric this week unearthed a video of one such performance:
And, today, I was having Chipotle with Mark when he happened to tell me Eric was once on Saturday Night Live with Pharrell.
Mark shared with me a photo of that SNL appearance. The image, also showing a certain Hollywood star, is at the top of this post.
Fawcett fellows, you are fantastic.
