I do a lot of Apple-flavored freelance writing for TidBITS, the venerable Apple-enthusiast website and weekly newsletter, which is a thrill.
After all, my admiration for founders Adam Engst and Tonya Engst predates any work I ever did for them. I am also a fan of TidBITS’ crack managing editor, Josh Centers. (The titanic trio are shown above.)
This isn’t the first time I’ve sung TidBITS’ praises on this blog.
The feeling, it seems, is mutual.
Adam today anointed me a TidBITS contributing editor, added me to the site’s masthead, and basically made my day (and week and month).
This doesn’t mean I’m leaving my day job. My TidBITS writing is still an on-the-side freelance gig … but the recognition means a lot.
Adam wrote in an e-mail to the rest of the TidBITS staff:
Julio Ojeda-Zapata has agreed to join us as a Contributing Editor, thus becoming one of the few, the proud, the constantly-overwhelmed-by-so-many-Apple-announcements. 🙂
Seriously, Julio has been doing a bang-up job of late, with fast, well-written articles, and his knowledge of the broader tech world has been nice to add to the TidBITS mix.
He’s now on the staff list, and I’ll write a short welcome message for an upcoming issue.
I am flattered, and I will aspire to be worthy of this honor.
