Thank you to the Minnov8 Gang for again having me on the podcast as a guest host. It’s always a blast. We talked tablets (including the new iPad 2) yesterday. As always, the Photoshop work for the podcast post is a hoot. The image of me is a video still from a classic Eskimo by Chuck Olsen.

David Erickson, Director of e-Strategy at the Twin Cities-based Tunheim Partners public-relations agency, interviewed me about my ‘iPad Means Business’ book for his e-Strategy Internet Marketing Blog.

We had a wide-ranging tech chat, which he captured with his Kodak vidcam in my St. Paul kitchen. Other topics we covered in included the iPad 2, Android tablets like Motorola’s Xoom, and tablet alternatives such as Google’s Chrome OS for notebooks.

Thanks, Dave, this was fun.

I talk iPad 2 on Fox 9

On the day Apple announced its iPad 2, Fox 9 had me on to talk about it. I’m impressed with the creativity that went into this piece: Steve Jobs meets Steve Austin!

Twin Cities Public Television again invited me to appear on its “Almanac” media panel, and I was honored to accept. In addition to the aired segment above, there is a Web-only segment on gadgets the panelists and TPT staffers use. Watch me fail to activate a Motorola Xoom tablet (mostly my fault, not the Xoom’s 🙂

To be on the Macworld Podcast with Chris Breen is an honor considering the company he keeps (here he is with the legendary Andy Ihnatko):

Chris had me on earlier this week to talk about my iPad book.

It was my second time on the podcast (I made my inaugural appearance a couple of years ago to discuss my Twitter book).

Me, Myself and iPad: The music video is what I’ve been up to lately.

I’ve been a fan of Minneapolis rocker Terry Eason since he played with Dylan Hicks back  in the 90’s. We teamed up to make this book trailer for my friend Julio, longtime tech journalist and author of “iPad Means Business.

I’ve always found it easy to imagine Julio as a sort of techie superhero, so it was fun to transform him into “iPad Man” and various other strange configurations. It’s like we spun together Julio, a piece of my brain, Terry’s tune, a Matrix DVD, a buttload of effects, crack cocaine and a drop of amateur sauce into an unauthorized episode of Will It Blend.

Voilá! Hyperstrangeness that I hope provides 90 seconds of FUN.

Is Apple’s recently unveiled Mac App Store a good thing or a bad thing for users, and for app creators? The Minnov8 Gang-sters posed that question earlier this week in their latest podcast episode, with help from yours truly.

Our guest: Michael Wray of Minneapolis-based Mariner Software, which as of this writing had five apps in the Mac App Store with a sixth in limbo. Mike has mixed feelings about this new Mac-software marketplace.

I earlier covered the Mac App Store in a Pioneer Press story that focused on Mariner and another local Mac-app developer.
